One of the benefits of my technique is that I use very little paint (waste is exceedingly minimal.) This does require a necessity to utilize top quality mediums that feature maximum pigment load, and strong stable properties. Top quality professional artist grade paints and gels, which include UV protectors, are used exclusively.
Paper:
Artist Papers, the base of my work, are selected for each new work in consideration of its individual properties:
Canvases and Panels:
I prefer a gallery profile of 1.5″ depth in both my canvases and panels. Canadian made professional grade.

Mediums:
I work with acrylic based paint, inks and gels.
Colour is applied in both a wash, and line by line with a dipping pen nib, so it is the paper alone that gives it the appearance of thickly applied paint. Paint is the one item used in my studio with the highest capability of adversely impacting health and environment through its production, properties, and disposal.
“Acrylic polymer paints are safer than oil paints, primarily due to the absence of toxic solvents. No reproducible adverse health effects have been associated with the use of acrylic polymer mediums.” From Non Toxic Paint & Print
My brand go-to's:

Eco-minded Studio Practices & Products includes reuse, recycling, and appropriate disposal of materials.
Recycle:
Fortunately, we have a recycling program in our town.
Plastic materials that come into the studio such as canvas wrapper, disposable glove packages, etc., and cardboard, paper scraps are separated from the garbage and recycled.
Unused mixed paint is allowed to dry as its dry form is the best way to dispose of acrylic paint.
Re-Use:
Smaller medium containers are reused for holding many items. They are also used to hold paint containers upended when near finished to get the remaining paint from them, as well as to prop canvases up from the table surface for addressing the edges and drying. The lids are saved and used as palettes for mixing colours, the paint peels out of them quite easily for re-use. Excess containers are recycled instead of reused.
Tri-Art have chosen PETE plastic for all their packaging, including tubes. "It is fully recyclable, does not leach, and requires less energy to produce.”
GOLDEN acrylics "are packaged in HDPE plastic, which can then be reused or recycled in many areas."
